Hydroxychloroquine sulfate is an anti-malarial drug with anti-inflammatory, immunoregulatory and anticoagulant effects. Currently, hydroxychloroquine is mainly used in the clinical treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, juvenile chronic arthritis, discoid lupus erythematosus and systemic lupus erythematosus, but its clinical effect is slow, usually requiring 2 to 4 months of time. The pharmacological action of this drug is not very clear, and it may be related to stabilizing lysosomal membrane, inhibiting the formation of prostaglandin, inhibiting the chemotaxis of polymorphonuclear cells and the role of phagocytes, possibly interfering with the formation of monocytes, interleukin-1, and inhibiting the release of neutrophil superoxide.
