Solubility: soluble in water, near neutral in aqueous solution.Soluble in turpentine and ammonia.Insoluble in ethanol.It dissolves in an acidic solution.

Heat to 100ºC, lose 5 crystal water.It is easy to be weathered in dry air above 33ºC and has deliquescence in humid air.

Sodium thiosulfate pentahydrate (bicarbonate/sea wave) is a colorless transparent crystal. It is a hydrate of sodium thiosulfate, which is easily soluble in water and slightly alkaline in aqueous solution.It loses crystalline water by weathering in the dry air above 33ºC.It is stable in neutral and alkaline solution, but will decompose rapidly in acidic solution.

Reducibility: Baking soda also has strong reducibility and can reduce substances such as chlorine gas.

Na2S2O3+4Cl2+5H2O=2H2SO4+2NaCl+6HCl, so it can be used as a dechlorination agent for cotton fabrics after bleaching.In a similar way, iodine stains can be removed from fabrics.It is also used in tanning leather, electroplating and extracting silver from ores.

Products are widely used in textile, chemical fiber, paper, leather, pesticide industry.

For example, the paper industry is used as a chlorinator after pulp bleaching.Used in the dyeing and printing industry as a dechlorination agent for bleached cotton goods
